The Naylors – Sunshine Coast Family Photographer

As Mum’s, we spend so much time behind the camera taking photos of our kids. They grow up so very quickly and we want to capture every little milestone, growth spurt and personality quirk along the way. It’s wonderful to be able to look back on pictures of your children and reminisce about how little they were and how much they’ve changed. And let’s face it, there’s nothing kids love more than seeing photos of themselves when they were little too.

As we are busily capturing memories of our kids, how often do we as Mum’s (or even Dad’s for that matter) get in front of the camera with them? Our hair isn’t right, we want to wait until we’ve lost some weight or have nicer clothes on…the list goes on. I have to say that I’m as guilty as the next person in shying away from the camera, but now that my kids are 8 and 11 and the reality has hit home that they are growing up in the blink of an eye, I want to make sure that I’m in all the photos for them. They don’t see the daggy outfit, lack of makeup or those few extra cuddly kilos. They’ll just see you. Their beautiful Mama (or Dad) and remember how much you loved playing with them, cuddling them or just loved them in that moment.

Emily booked in a family session with me because she wanted to get in front of the camera for a change. Here’s what she had to say after our portrait shoot at Maroochydore beach:

“I randomly booked a session to get some family photos. Not something we’d even thought about, but so glad I did! I’m always the one taking the photos so it was so nice to be in some with the kids. Sunshine Coast friends: I highly recommend a session with Krista! No staged photos, just lots of playing together on the beach, which Krista captured so beautifully. (Incidentally the same beach where we had our wedding photos 😍) Thanks Krista!”

Justin & Laura – Tweed Valley Wedding Photography

Justin and Laura’s wedding was one for the history books. Set in the beautiful Tweed Valley, just near the Border Ranges National park, this wedding day happened to be a record breaker in terms of January heat. The mercury topped 42 degrees, many of the New Zealand guests commenting that they had never experienced heat like that in their lives (me neither)! While Laura was getting ready trying to retain as much make-up as she could with fans going constantly (no aircon unfortunately), Justin and the groomsmen were off swimming in a natural spring and taking trips into the cold room just to try and stay cool.

Despite the extremes in the weather, Justin and Laura’s wedding at Silk Pavilions was a stunner. The beautiful location was a gorgeous backdrop for this Tweed Vally wedding.

This is what Laura had to say about the Photography:

“Justin knows Krista from CrossFit here in Brisbane and had often spoken about her amazing photography skills – even prior to us getting engaged. While standing on the balcony of Silk Pavilions the very first time that we visited the property, Justin was on his phone emailing Krista within minutes of arriving to make sure she was available for the date that we wanted to lock in! I totally and utterly trusted Justin’s decision from the very beginning about asking Krista to be our photographer and it is the best decision (apart from marrying me) that he has ever made. From the first time that we sat down with Krista to discuss what thoughts we had for our big day right up to receiving all of the photos from her the whole experience has been nothing short of a pleasure and we could not recommend Krista Martin Photography highly enough.”

Sherri & Dan – Brisbane Wedding Photographer

It’s been such pleasure going through some of my weddings from the past. In the next week or two I’m looking forward to sharing some of my favourites with you all. Seeing a whole shoot like this one really tells the story of the couple’s wedding day.

I shot Sherri & Dan’s wedding back in 2013 when I was working as a Wedding Photographer for TWK Studio. Even though the wedding was just over 5 years ago, the images have really stood the test of time. A classic styled, joyful and romantic wedding never gets old. I loved the excitement that Sherri showed during every part of her wedding day. Everyone had so much fun. I think this quote from Stephen Chbosky really sums up the vibes from their day –

“There’s nothing like deep breaths after laughing that hard. Nothing in the world like a sore stomach for all the right reasons.”

Sherri & Dan got married at Roma Street Parklands and had their gorgeous wedding reception at Custom’s House in Brisbane.

Yoga Business – Sunshine Coast Commercial Photographer

Leah is in the process of building a website to launch her new Yoga studio on the Sunshine Coast. We got together to create some unique and engaging images and headshots as a basis for her to start building her website.

Whether we run small family businesses or work within large corporations, marketing and selling our products and services in this day and age relies heavily on the images we portray to our clients. Research shows that social media content, websites and online shopping sites that include relevant  and selective images get more views, engagement and sales than those that include no images. Displaying consistently excellent photography shows your clients that you care about the small details and adds to your brand’s credibility, and using quality imagery creates a platform for you to build trust with your potential clients.

However, maintaining a constant stream of engaging and quality photographs on our websites, Instagram and Facebook profiles is no easy feat. Enter commercial photographer…

Are you in the process of starting a business, rebranding or needing a consistent stream of photographic content for your brand? I’d love to work with you to create the images you need to help your business connect with your ideal clients.

Call Krista on 0421 831 310 or contact me to discuss your business needs.

The Barretts – Sunshine Coast Family Photographer

On these beautiful winter days, there really is no nicer way to spend the afternoon than at the beach. We are so spoilt here on the Sunshine Coast. Beautiful blue skies, mid 20 degree days and stunning surroundings. I often look at the view across to Mount Coolum and I pinch myself as I’m reminded of just how blessed we are to live here. We could live anywhere in the world and here we are in such a stunning place.

This family portrait session was taken on one of these glorious winter days at Point Cartwright. These two handsome little men were such a pleasure to photograph. I couldn’t get enough of AJ’s chubby little cheeks and Jai’s chatter.

This is what Mum Elle had to day after their shoot:

“So many amazing photos thanks to Krista, you captured our boys personalities perfectly”

X Krista

The Cochranes – Sunshine Coast Family Photographer

This family portrait session was so much fun. Kids this age are such a pleasure to photograph. Their spontaneity makes for some beautiful and natural images. Rikki-Lee and Sam’s three gorgeous boys were so playful and full of energy. We spent the late afternoon in the golden light at Point Cartwright.

This is what Rikki-Lee had to say after their session:

“Hands down – the most amazing photographer! We have had Krista take photographs for us on 3 separate occasions now, and will continue to use her to capture our special family moments. Krista was so kind and patient with our boys, and made the afternoon so much fun for all of us! The photos are simply stunning and capture everything and more that we were looking for – I can even hear my little one’s giggles as I look at their smiling faces! We can not recommend Krista highly enough if you are looking to get family photos. THANK YOU so much!”

I would love to photograph your family! Click here to contact me about your family portrait session.

Ella and Phoebe – Sunshine Coast Portrait Photographer

I thought I’d start my blog with two girls that mean the world to me. My favourites. Ella and Phoebe. Like every Mum I love them to bits, they drive me crazy from time to time but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve loved my journey as a parent so far. Watching my girls grow up and change, develop their own personalities, likes and dislikes. The girls are 8 and 11 now and so far this is the time that I’ve enjoyed them the most.

We spent a gorgeous afternoon down at Cotton Tree Beach. These are my crazy, beautiful girls just as they always are. No posing. No fake smiles. Just Ella and Bea doing their thing.
